Friday Fun Stack
Author: BobR    Date: 10/12/2007 12:06:30

Good morning folks! It's Friday and the weekend is within our grasp. Last Friday, I posted a rather heavy reflection on our current situation, so this week I am following the lead of the Stephanie Miller Show and providing a Friday Fun Stack.

First, from the web site Bush or Chimp we have this gem:
http://www.bushorchimp.com/images/pic81.jpg

Prezzie want a banana? :sprint:

Continuing along in the "things are not what they seem" vein, here we have Reagan talking about the virtues of being a *gasp* LIBERAL:

(Thanks to Bob Harris for this...)

Continuing with the absurd, there's this headline that is absolutely NOT made up:

Taco Bell to open restaurants in Mexico

"It's like bringing ice to the Arctic," complained pop culture historian Carlos Monsivais.
Hey - there's a McDonalds in Paris...

But what would a Friday be without some music? How about Dylan's Special 60th birthday album?... No?...

How about Eddie Van Halen "shredding"?

Okay, that wasn't really Eddie Van Halen. There's another bunch here, but be forwarned: If you're at work, they're guaranteed productivity killers. They guy that dubbed all these has done a VERY good job of making guitar heroes look like idiots.

This, however, is genius: Darth Vader coming to America...

ah-hahhhh...

I hope you've gotten a smile out of these, and are better prepared to get through this last day before the weekend. It's only a few hours until cocktail time!

Good morning everyone.

John Gibson and mAnn Coulter both made the worst person list last night for their comments. And you know it must be odious when mAnn only makes no. 3.

Morning folks!

alright, I've got to chime in on this "perfecting the Jews" thing.

The world's largest religion is Islam, and one of the things they believe is that the word was given to Mohammed so that he could correct the misconceptions that man recorded about Jesus.

In essence, "perfecting the Christians". I've heard and read that the thinking is that when you compare the Koran to the Bible, those passages that match are correct, but where the Koran differs from the Bible, because the Koran came later and is a "correction", that is the version that is correct.

But you won't hear the right talking about that, will you?

And if you check on the message board, about the letter that the Muslim clerics sent to the Pope, they state something I've been saying for years....we all worship the same God, we only follow different prophets.

Oh, and

DRAFT GORE!!!

Those that think that being all powerful is the key to happiness. It is disgusting. Nooses, confederate flags, it is about power in our *bring em on* culture. People seem to think that that white is now the new right.

When I read the book on Ghouilani, the authors pointed out there were explosives already in the 7 building because of one of the other tenants, and more were put in when 7 was chosen as the Bunker by Ghouilani even though everyone said it would have been better in Brooklyn where Bloomberg ended up putting it.

Good morning, bloggers!!

I hope that everyone is well.

Sorry that I am in here so late, but I had some computer headaches and had to work on the Daily Headlines at the Unfiltered News Network. We are trying something a little different, so take a look.

I will try to step in and out a few times today.

Comment by Will in Chicago on 10/12/2007 16:37:01
As a Jew, I will chime in on the "perfecting Jews" remark by Ann Coulter.

First, both Islam and Christianity claim to supercede Judaism. Jews did not accept Jesus of Nazareth as a Messiah on several grounds, including failure to both liberate his homeland from oppressors and to establish universal peace. Similarly, Jews did not accept Mohammed as a divine messenger because of the similarities of his teachings to things that had been written down earlier in the Midrash, commentaries on the Torah and other writings.

There are similarities and differences among the three Abrahamic faiths, but I believe that the Muslim clerics who wrote the letter calling for peace and peace activists of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths far better follow the example of Abraham than Ann Coulter. (Her wearing a cross only proves that she is not a vampire. Something we knew already.)

We do seem to be at a crossroads and if we don't elect someone who will undo the damage Bush has done, this country could be over as we know it. It will become an authoritarian empire in decline as the bills come due, rather than a shining beacon of freedom as has been envisioned.
