FAFO: Disinfowars Edition
Author: Raine    Date: 10/13/2022 12:15:11

It finally happened yesterday. A Connecticut jury awarded families of the Sandy Hook massacre nearly a billion dollars. $965,000,000 to be exact.
The verdict is the second big judgment against the Infowars host over his relentless promotion of the lie that the 2012 massacre never happened, and that the grieving families seen in news coverage were actors hired as part of a plot to take away people’s guns.

It came in a lawsuit filed by the relatives of five children and three educators killed in the mass shooting, plus an FBI agent who was among the first responders to the scene. A Texas jury in August awarded nearly $50 million to the parents of another slain child. (snip)

Strangers showed up at their homes to record them. People hurled abusive comments on social media. Erica Lafferty, the daughter of slain Sandy Hook principal Dawn Hochsprung, testified that people mailed rape threats to her house. Mark Barden told of how conspiracy theorists had urinated on the grave of his 7-year-old son, Daniel, and threatened to dig up the coffin.
This comes after a Texas jury awarded 49.3 million dollars to the parents of 6-year-old Jesse Lewis, another victim of the shooting. Alex Jones now owes OVER a billion dollars to these families. And a reminder, there is another damage trial coming up.

Now, the thing is, those numbers are most likely going to be lowered in court challenges. The money doesn't take away the pain of the families, friends, and the community. That's not the point. The point is accountability for actions taken. Hopefully, this will end his reign of misinformation and lies. That said, as the court was reading the outcome, he was spewing nonsense.

Because once again, the blog didn't accept the video from the tweet, here it is.

It also cut out the rest of my post. I apologize.

BTW, Jones has most of the money in a litigation trust (a result of his bankruptcy filing)
As part of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Jones paid $725,000 of his own money into a litigation settlement trust that now holds the assets of the three companies.

The trust is meant to pay damage awards to the Sandy Hook families, according to the bankruptcy papers filed Sunday and Monday in Victoria federal court.

Another $2 million will be paid into the trust at a future date, the filings said, without listing the source of the money.
If Alex wants to further FAFO, and not pay the families, he could end up in Prison (Planet) for contempt of court.

Mornin' all!

From what I understand, bankruptcy won't be able to shield him from being liable to pay the jury awards. Something about "intentional tortious conduct". He won't ever be able to get a bank loan again, his assets can be seized and any attempt to hide money or assets can result in prison time for contempt of court.

The Parkland shooter appears to have gotten the death penalty.

Good morning, bloggers!!!!

I hope that everyone is well. I have a late day as I am going to an interview for a full-time long term position.

As for Alex Jones, maybe this verdict will deter some others from making outrageous comments. I have found his comments to be insulting and offensive. Perhaps, at long last, we will see that facts and truth matter.

I expect that Jones will try any means to avoid paying money. I doubt that they will work.

From what I've been reading the jury's sentencing verdict is a recommendation for the judge to make a final decision. Apparently they'll be doing that after the victims' families offer their statements in court.

Yoooooooooo holy shit.. this troop withdrawl from Somalia and Afghanistan was deliberately done

a) to screw over the anti-terrorism efforts in both places;
b) to basically hand over control of Afghanistan to the Taliban, which we already know;
c) to enable Russia's influence to grow exponentially in Africa.

So, it only took a breach of the Capitol for the SS to stop him from going to the insurrection?

GDMF'rs.

Pat Cippolone lied under oath during the deposition - there's no way he didn't know who on the staff, including TFG himself, was expressing joy at what was happening at the Capitol.

Comment by Raine on 10/13/2022 19:02:02
TFG wanted to have a mass murder at the Capitol that day.

This is so much clearer than ever before.
