With all that going on, let's keep these people, their families, and loved ones in our thoughts.

Good morning, bloggers!!!!

As a teacher who has been in school lockdowns due to armed suspects near schools (with a helicopter overhead in one instance), I believe that we need to take action to make our society safer. When I was a high school student, a bad school day might involve kids from another school coming by for a fistfight. Most teachers I know long for those days as opposed to worrying about the next school shooting.

We need to have a Congress that will enact laws to make it very hard to obtain assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition. Other countries, such as Australia, have dealt with gun problems. Yet, money in politics seems to keep us in a state of paralysis.
