It's over. Javi is coming home today.


Just musing on the turbulent last year. One calendar year ago, they were both in Disney World. Javi's program had another two weeks to run, and Aneesa was staying on until March.

You're probably aware of the near-fiasco last spring where I had to drive down and get Aneesa back home, due to the complete lack of support from her family.

Well - it was all fun and games until both of them were no longer in college and had to "adult". Let's just say they both have some more learning to do.

In any case, a once-promising relationship has collapsed into chaos, and Javi is moving out. Home will always be home.

He's going to try to commute to that good job back in Providence. It's an hour each way, which will suck, but I did that for five years when I worked 40 miles away in Worcester.
There are some days today where it takes me an hour to drive 11 miles home from Boston, so it's not impossible.

In the end - Javi is 22. Fortunately not a 'Starter Marriage', and hopefully the next go-around will be better. He's got an entire lifetime yet to figure things out.
