I am a fan of The Boys. A show that has delivered scenes that I will never be able to unsee (if you know you know take your pick there is a plethora). It's also a show that has brought a lot of laughs and a good story. The show is NOT subtle in its message.
Apparently some people just figured it out.... in season 4.
“When we first pitched the show, it was before Trump was elected. And the idea that a celebrity would actively want to turn themselves into a fascist autocrat was kind of a crazy idea. I mean, it still is. But it turned out to have happened?” he said, “We sort of lucked into a show whose metaphor is really about the moment we’re living in, which is the cross-section of celebrity and authoritarianism. And so once we realize that, we’re like, ‘Well, we have to go all the way.’”
Eric Kripke Addresses Certain Fans Realizing The Boys Was Always About Them
The show is based on an original comic that published from 2006 - 2012, there are 72 issues.
The Boys Comic Wiki "The series is set between 2006 and 2008[11] in a world where superheroes exist. However, most of the superheroes in the series' universe are corrupted by their celebrity status and often engage in reckless behavior, compromising the safety of the world."
I have to wonder if it was the amount of spectacular violence and vulgarness that made them completely miss that the story has been about them the whole time.
Anyway,,,, have a great weekend, be safe. And if you haven't checked out The Boys maybe take a peek but be warned, its' not for the faint hearted or those without a sense of dark humor
Love you guys!
