Watching the images from Los Angeles, it's hard to comprehend the enormity of the disaster. Those of us who have listened to the SMS show have a special fondness for those involved, many of whom lie in the area.
Our Friend, Frances Callier evacuated from West Hollywood last night. The seaside in Malibu is gone, and Palisdes is decimated. It's just horrific. President Biden has promised to do everything he can to help. The incoming Orange Disaster has demanded that California's Governor resign.
Of course, he is being divisive. It really makes me sick.
I've truly never fully grasped Samuel Beckett's line "I can't go on, I'll go on" until now. Facing four years of the awfulness that's coming, I feel it in my bones.

I've been feeling this line since November. I'll go on — but in a different way. I'm not sure how, but I will go on, and I don't want to. Hug your friends, and support them. We still have our stickers on our truck, our community knows we are a safe place. It's just one small thing we can do to stare down this Abyss (as Bob said yesterday). No one deserves this. No one.
