How's that economy?
Author: TriSec    Date: 07/06/2024 15:34:03

Good Morning.

Just a random observation from the fine city of Boston, MA. We might have had a thing or two to do with the festivities the other day. (You're welcome, BTW)

A few ditties for the main stream media, SCOTUS, Project 2025, the Toxic Trashhole and his cult followers.

The 4th

I am not sure How I feel about it this year. Monday's SCOTUS ruling was a gut punch. I tried to prepare for the worst, but it wasn't enough. Where I am at tho, is in a place of deep anger with the media and how they're treating our President.

The Silver Lining
Author: BobR    Date: 07/03/2024 13:40:20

We're all aware of the damage that the Orange Menace did while occupying the Oval Office. One of those things - putting 3 judges on the Supreme Court - is the gift that keeps on giving... to him. Because of his ability to stack the court, abortion is no longer protected, and laws in the various red states are becoming worse than we even imagined.

It also got him the ruling this week that official acts of the POTUS are immune from prosecution. The key word there is "official", and may be the silver lining, because they also ruled that "private" acts are NOT immune:

Ask a Vet

Good Morning.

There's still an awful lot to process after yesterday. Strange to think of "Ask a Vet" as a distraction, but nonetheless - let's dive right in.

Fascism.

Nixon Wasn't.

But Trump is.

This is nothing less than America's "Enabling Act". You can look that up if you're not familiar.

Purple Thoughts

Picked up pieces from TriSec's mind, which I shamelessly steal from the Boston Globe's Dan Shaughnessey from time to time.

Debateable
Author: BobR    Date: 06/26/2024 12:47:30

The first presidential debate of this election year is happening tomorrow, so this will be my last blog before that happens. It's unusual to have the debate before either candidate is officially picked as their respective party's nominee. My understanding is that it's because so many states do early voting, and both have essentially clinched their party's nomination anyway.

Not that it will matter to the party faithful. What's up for grabs is those people who are referred to as "the undecideds", "the moderates", the "middle-of-the-roaders"... you know - those who "don't do politics". They will have to decide between the guy who the press keeps saying is too old, or the convicted criminal.

Ask a Vet
Author: TriSec    Date: 06/24/2024 22:44:37

Good evening - if you see this now. Writing early tonight, because I'm working early tomorrow. Funny thing, my chief complaint about trolley life is that I can get home anytime between 5 and 9 pm any day of the week. At the new gig, I told them I didn't mind early morning assignments, so now it's the reverse. I can start anytime between 4-8 am. The tradeoff, of course, is that I get to go home early, and at a predictable time, too.

Anyway, let's dive in, shall we?
