As part of my ongoing efforts to control & lose weight, I bought a digital scale a few days ago. The thing is an absolute piece of shit - I swear I'm not sure if I've ever gotten an accurate reading out of it. This morning I tried five times - I got weights of 120, 186, 340, 343, 400 and it overloaded a buncha times so I had to retry. If I had to guess the two middle numbers are about right tho, which means since my last doctors visit (end of August) I'm down 15-20 lbs.
I'm taking this thing back to the store tomorrow and getting a normal, old-fashioned analog one.

White House decorated for Halloween fest for trick-or-treating military kids... If you get a chance check out the video I posted this morning -- from last night.
I found out later that the young lady in question, who went to the White house was quite displeased as she did not have an audience with POTUS and FLOTUS.

I just noticed a change on the NY TV dial. Harold Camping (the rapture is happening in 2011) has given up his religious station and it switched today to carrying MHz Worldview with the hodgepodge of programming from the international news channels that you get in the DC area although I don't think it includes any RT en Espanol programming.

The NRA is really in denial about how high gun violence is in this country compared to elsewhere in the world. It also helps when your biggest financial backers are the weapons manufactures who make a killing as long as the gun market is wide open.
