There has been much written and talked about regarding the January 6 attack on the Capitol and by extension, our democracy. Living in the DC region for 12 years, I took it perhaps more personally than others. That violence was far too close, in a literal way, to home. While Bob has been working from home for over a year (pandemic) it's not lost on either of us that his office is about two blocks from where the insurrection occurred.

As of June11, 521 arrests have been made. The FBI is still seeking information on the people who participated.

Prosecutors are also prosecuting the ones who have been arrested and are still in DC jail. As one would rightfully expect, many of these people are asking to be freed until their day in court comes. This is where it gets interesting.

I went over to his twitter page and I have to say, he's correct. The charging documents are quite different that the reasons why prosecutors want these people to stay in jail. This crop of insurrectionists are really bad people. That lawyers are calling their actions acts of terrorism says a lot, IMO.


As they investigate the alleged crimes, they are uncovering more and more evidence. I have a feeling this is going to be a very bad few weeks for those who conspired to overthrow our democracy.

The foot 'soldiers' deserve what is coming, make no mistake. At a certain point the organizers and those above them will find themselves held to account, one way or another. It may seem like it's taking too long, but this is just the tip of the iceberg, I believe.
