Digging Out!
Author: wickedpam    Date: 12/20/2009 13:37:12

Hey Guys! Vel is doing her wonderful Red Cross duty so she asked me to sub for her. Not really sure what to write since I'm typing this from a very large snow drift! So I'll open up a stub for the day and I have to get back to tunneling my way out of here!

Have a great Sunday everyone

How much did you get Mala?

I spent the day digging out yesterday, making it much easier on a lovely looking Sunday.

Thanks wickedpam for starting up the blog on this snowy Sundee. We have 15 inches today- it is way above my boots. My trusty dog Rosie is leaping from one drift to the next as I stumble along behind her.

Thanks VJ for doing the Red Cross all night marathon.

I haven't checked into what is happening in Washington on the healthcare front this morning - I was taking a two day news break because I was getting too cynical and stressed out.

Well I hope everyone is safe and tunneled out!

I'll have to measure but I think my yard is topping somewhere between 18-25 inchs of snow

Sen. Whitehouse on GOP: "The Lying Time Will Be Over. There Will Be a Reckoning."

This is Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, a few minutes ago on the floor of the Senate chamber lambasted Republican's for their lies, fear-mongering & hatred of Barack Obama (h/t DKos' Gorette):

"All to break the momentum of our new young president. They are desperate to break the president. The birthers, the militias, the lifers--- it is unbearable to them for the presidency of Barack Obama to exist."

"...the lying time is over....there will be a reckoning."

Howdy folks!

We didn't fare too badly here in Boston. Started snowing right at midnite last night, laid off about 2pm today.

I didn't measure, but it's close to a foot. But it's the light, powdery stuff...easy to move around.

We're in the home stretch now...just finished a batch of soft-dough cookies. (You might see them in the supermarket as "anise drops", but my great grandma's recipe calls for lemon.)

Got a ricotta pie to make Wednesday, then probably guava pastry on Xmas eve morning.
