Wow - what a difference a few weeks make. We went from President Biden being on the ropes because of a bad debate performance, to an energized base of engaged voters enthusiastically supporting the Harris/Walz ticket. We went from Don the Con to DonOLD. The Drumpf campaign went from being ready for a battle with Biden to "WTH do I do now?" Down-ticket Democrats were worried about their election chances with a less-than-energized voter bloc, and now it's former tRump voters drifting away. Republican congressmen and governors must be plotzing.

On top of not really getting any bump from the convention, the Marmalade Mandarin's campaign is just floundering, flopping and gasping for oxygen like a fish on the dock. None of his insults are sticking. His veep pick is an albatross (and a cross-dressing one at that). His public appearances are becoming increasingly erratic.

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind. President Biden had a bad debate performance, which made everyone suddenly "concerned" about his physical and mental health (and - more importantly to them - the impact on the presidential race as well as down-ticket races). Then Marmalade Palpatine got nicked in the ear from a supposed assassins AR-15 (no real damage, it seems). Then President Biden DID drop out of the race, and annointed Veep Kamala Harris as his succesor.

That last part did two things:
1) It took the cameras away from the Orange Menace, something that goes to his core
2) She re-invigorated the race. Suddenly, there was a LOT of enthusiasm, even from moderates and the undecideds.
